About me
Martin has worked in the risk management profession for over 30 years for some of the leading global insurance and risk consulting firms including Swiss Re, AIG and Enstar Group and within risk consulting practices of Marsh, Aon and Willis.
He is a leading practitioner in enterprise risk management (ERM) risk and was a Chief Risk Officer for a Lloyds Syndicate in London and approved by the Bank of England as SMF4. He has a strong technical background in actuarial science and risk financing, and brings breadth and depth of experience having advised companies in over 40 countries.
In 2020 he set up his own company to focus on climate change consulting services and in 2021 he supported an insurance industry report on net zero underwriting for ClimateWise (part of CISL).
He has continued his professional development and has two professional risk management qualifications and an MBA from Kingston Business School in which he gained a distinction on a project on climate change. He has supported the Institute of Risk Management over 25 years and is now the Chairman of their Climate Change Special Interest Group. He has taught Enterprise Risk Management at Georgetown University in Doha.

Awards
Martin has won several awards in risk management. At AIG he won an innovation award in 2010 for a project relating to terrorism exposures across multiple businesses saving millions of reinsurance premiums by developing a unique framework using an internal capital model.
At Marsh Martin won the 2015 MEA ‘Best Risk Financing Approach’ award issued by the Publishers GR and Strategic Risk for a project for a major airline in which he restructured their global insurance programme aligning it to their ERM Strategy.
